Storytelling is needed more then ever...
A well developed and presented story can cross the many barriers of age, culture and beliefs.
Storytelling and sharing stories helps the child’s development in a multitude of ways.
Stories can help teach children about themselves, life events, community and other cultures.
Stories enables subject curiosity, creative problem solving and language exploration.
Oral storytelling can promote a feeling of relaxation and well-being.
Listening to and interacting with stories aides in developing listening skills.
At Woven Stories you are never too young or too old to listen to stories. In our opinion to hear a story, you are always, to quote a certain curly headed girl, 'JUST RIGHT' (Goldilocks from Goldilocks and The Three Bears.)
'Creativity is contagious, pass it on.'-Albert Einstein
Entertainment through character design in stories.

This is where I share the workings of a oral storyteller, story artist and writer so you can come along for the journey too. Please respect my copyright but I do share free resources in the shop page. Thank you for your support. x Allie
Sometimes you just want it to be you, Maybe you want to be the center of attention, to get to pick first or even just left alone. In 'Crowded Nest' we see the lengths a little Pukeko chick will go to, to be the center of attention. A story that deals with the difficult emotions surrounding insecurity and jealousy in a humorous way..
Original story told by me on our radio show and now in development for writing and illustrations. Have you ever meet someone who always said no to everything they are asked or are not interested in trying new things? I have and that is just what the little boy Sam is like in my new story 'The home-made zebra'. Will Sam discover a new way of looking at things or will he miss out on the best party he has ever been to? You can hear me tell the story on air in our podcast Birthdays and Surprises Show 15/06/2019. But as you know my stories develop and grow as I draw the characters and work with the words. Here is a question for you, what has been your favorite costume ever? have fun x Allie
